After Earth, it is imperative that humanity learns from its mistakes that led to the demise of its former home. As a result, the designs that shape and animate this new society are resourceful, tactful and heavily informed by nature. The spaces are much more fluid and organic than we are accustomed to.
From the buildings to the space crafts there is an abundance of loose fabrics and curves that envelope skeletal frameworks. A glorious synergy between man and nature is emerging in this new world that is not often seen in prophetic films.

There are also many old world influences present. We see a lot of contemporary design influence within the homewares and decoration. Tri-chopstick sets and huge fruit bowls occupy the minimalist home setting.
And as the homes appear to prioritise space and air circulation there are ceiling mounted hammocks in place of beds.
